"Paintings" are original watercolors done in
a gouache-like unique style utilizing vivid
colors found in nature blending together to
create natural life like pictures.  A style which
could be characterized as contemporary
realism.
All original watercolors are framed with a
unique style frame (patent pending) which is
an original design by the artist.  Made of oak
or pine inset with "jaras" (salt cedar willows)
which are cut to size and pre-selected for
matching diameter, color and texture.  Then
each jara is individually fit and glued.
The frame in itself is a unique original work
of art.  The watercolor painting is then inset
into the frame when mounting to give an
added dimensional look.
Segmented Wood Vases
The segmented wood vases are made of
various exotic hard woods by a unique process
developed by the artist.  They are entirely hand
shaped with the use of a belt sander by holding,
maneuvering and twisting to desired shape.
They are not made on a lathe and are not
considered "turnings".
The finish is a result of hours of manual sanding
utilizing five different grits of sandpaper and
0000 steel wool to accomplish the smooth
glass-like feel.  Finally, pure carnuba wax is
applied to coat and preserve.  The colors are all
natural, wood stains or dyes are not used.
The sanding process itself acts as a sealer, no
further care is necessary.
